I hope you're enjoying the holidays as much as we are!

10 weeks isn't too late for baby announcements, is it?

We finally finished our baby announcement/thank you cards! Looks like this is what folks will be getting instead of Christmas cards this year. the rockets on the mobile kind of look like squid, but I'm ok with that The image of Axel on the front of the card is done up to look like a blue print and we tried to make the pop-up nursery on the inside similar to Axel's own robots and rocket ships themed room. The picture on the card was taken when Axel was only two weeks old. He's grown so much since then! He wore the same onesie for his weekly photo this weekend and the difference is incredible. He's doubled his weight since we brought him home from the hospital!

YuKonstructing lately

YuKonstruct has been keeping us really busy! never too young to appreciate lasers Inspired by a cardboard plane costume I saw online, I talked Chris into helping make YuKonstruct's Winterval Santa Clause Parade entry. Chris did all the design work and we built a small prototype at home before using YuKonstruct's laser cutter to cut out all the full sized pieces. It was a great way to use up a bunch of the cardboard we had left over from our ongoing renovations! Chris' work on the planes even landed him in the news paper. "Elves with lasers" might be my favourite headline ever. We took a quick break from assembling planes to host YuKonstruct's Christmas card workshop and Chibitronics build night  this past Thursday. We rejigged some of our past cards to make craft kits for the event and made some cool new cards that light up. Yesterday was finally the big day for the parade and the planes were a huge hit! A lazier advent calendar

Last year we loved putting together a beer advent calendar full of interesting beers we hadn't yet tried. We were looking forward to doing it again this December when we discovered an even easier option at the liquor store: premade craft beer advent calendars! While we're still adjusting to life with an infant, easier, and cheaper, is good. Tonight we tried the first beer,  Nøgne Ø . Chris and I both give it 6.5/10
