It's starting to look a little like Christmas

It was really nice having my parents in town recently. Axel is a really good baby, but it's still great to have help looking after him. Chris and I were able to catch up on our sleep and make some progress on some projects around the house, including some work on the nursery. While my mom was here, she and I hit up a few local craft sales and hung out at YuKonstruct's holiday craft nigh t . Inspired by all the craftiness, we put together some easy holiday decorations including a fun wreath from some ornaments and wire I already had lying around.

One Month

It's hard to believe that Axel is a month old today. He was due to arrive tomorrow! Inspired by Young House Love and Making It Lovely , I've been taking Axel's picture every week. He's started to grow so fast! Over the last week he's been putting on over an ounce every day. His clothes are still all too big, but at this rate he'll be filling them out in no time

Axel's First Halloween

My mom brought Axel this cute Halloween stuff when she came to visit us Even though we kept our Halloween pretty low key this year, we still had a lot of fun.   We decorated the house with t he Zero ghost dog and Oogie Boogie Man I made last year . One new addition was a teal pumpkin sign that Chris painted. Have you heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project ? Displaying a teal pumpkin is a way to show that you have non-food treats available for kids with allergies or special diets. We handed out little tubs of Play-doh and toy whistles along with candy and it was a huge hit with the trick-or-treaters who came to our door. A jack-o-lantern costume came with some second hand clothes we got recently from kijiji, so even though it was meant for a baby twice his size, Axel dressed up as a little pumpkin.
