This past weekend Chris and I celebrated the sixth anniversary of our first date. It's been an incredible 6 years, but this past year has been especially eventful.   So much has happened since I posted that infographic a year ago! We got married, we moved across and the country, we bought our first house and now we're about to have a baby. I can't imagine what new adventures are in store for us in the year ahead.

I have a new appreciation for mothers. Pregnancy really sucks! Bravo to all the women who have made it through it! 14 weeks Today Chris made me breakfast and got me some pretty flowers to put in the pots on the front porch. We also started to prepare the outside of the house for painting.  We don't know why part of the back of the house is covered in plywood instead of siding The paint is currently in really rough shape. Chris used a power washer to start to remove the worst of the peeling paint. Ultimately, we'd like to replace the siding but until then we are going to do our best to clean it up. what we're dealing with

The weather has been gorgeous lately. While Calgary has been getting snow, we've had nothing but blue skies and sunshine. Chris and I have been trying to take advantage of the warm days by getting work done outside our house. When we moved in the yard was really overgrown. Just look at the Google Street View shot! Google Street View taken June 2009 What a difference from how it looks today! May 7, 2014 - Progress! Chris bought a small chainsaw and took care of most of the bushes and small trees in the yard, but we decided to get a pro to take down the big pine. We hired Yukon Tree Services and they were amazing. The tree was down and everything was cleaned up in less than 30 minutes! They even chipped and carted off the big pile of brush that Chris had previously cut down. We're still a long way from a nicely landscaped yard but it's already so much brighter and feels so much bigger. The next steps will be re-leveling the yard so it slopes away from
