Pickles and Ice Cream

Image
Chris and I have exciting news to share: we're having a baby! It's a little unexpected (turns out it only takes once!), but we're really excited about this new adventure. Unfortunately, my pregnancy hasn't been much fun yet. They really shouldn't call it morning sickness when I'm nauseous and vomiting all day and night. At least this part should be over soon!

Spring in the Yukon

Image
Spring has arrived here in Whitehorse. The snow has melted and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous for the last few weeks. Watching the swans on Marsh Lake Spring in the Yukon means swans. Hundreds of honking swans. Chris and I went to Swan Haven on Marsh Lake over the long weekend and the official swan count was over 990! My wingspan = about the same as a swan! Chris doing his best bird impersonation Spring also means that it's the perfect time for BBQ. I got Chris a barbecue for his birthday this month and  he couldn't be happier. When it's t-shirt weather in April, it feels like we should be cooking every meal outside!

Adventures in House Hunting

I wrote a post about our hunt for a home for Offbeat Home & Life . After years of searching, it's so nice to finally have a place we love and can make our own. You can read the Offbeat Home story here . You might also like to see what we've done to the place since moving in. Here's a little updated house tour I posted back in March.

Missing PromDemonium

Image
For the first time since 2008, it's Prom night and I'm not there. I wish I could be in Ottawa, dancing up a storm with all the Promdemonium people! Since I can't be there in person, I'm getting my prom fix by looking at past photos and following all the happenings on twitter/facebook/instagram. 2008 wall flowers 2009 cutest couple? 2010 working the coat check 2011 sequins and top hats It's such a fun event. Maybe I can convince some folks to start up a Yukon version? 2012
