Wedding Wednesday: Decorations Progress

Image
1,440 or so metal petals later, we've finished the pop cans roses! Our friend Andrea was incredibly awesome to help us with the metal flowers. We're pretty lucky to have some really fantastic friends. Derek and Alicia also came over to help us with the decorations. They managed to squeeze some time in, amidst planning their Trans-Siberian Railway adventure , to help us cut fabric for bunting.

The newest addition to our mischief

Cutie My coworker's son had a lonely rat in need of a new home, so Chris and I agreed to take her in. Hopefully Cutie will enjoy living in a much larger cage with her new rat friends.

Wedding Wednesday: Dress fitting and shoes!

Image
So I guess this should really be called "Wedding Thursday" since I'm a day late posting this update. We had friends over yesterday, helping us with some wedding decorations, and I totally forgot my obligations to the blogosphere. Last week I got to try on the muslin mock up of my dress. Super exciting!  Deanna Fokes added the huge mullet skirt plus the overskirt and peplum. In addition to the dress progress I'm also super excited about my wedding shoes! I got these 5 inch heels for only $20 - don't you just love clearance sales at the Bay?! I like them now, but I have big plans to make them really special.

More books came in the mail

In the last week we've received 2 new books in the mail! The always awesome Megan, a.k.a. Princess Lasertron , sent me a copy of Signature Styles . It's a very cool book filled with lots of pretty sewing projects. Instructables sent us How to Do Absolutely Everything which is especially awesome because we're in it! Our glow in the dark drinks are on page 60!

Wedding Wednesday: Dress Progress

the original dress Deanna Fokes has started working on transforming my dress and she was kind enough to send me photos of the progress. To do the dramatic alterations she is essentially taking the whole dress apart and then building it back again from scratch. It's so exciting to see it coming together! I'm really looking forward to my next fitting.
